VESTAL, N.Y. - All 21 Binghamton University varsity teams are represented on the 2013 Fall Semester AD Honor Roll, released on Monday. A total of 176 student-athletes earned a 3.3 or higher grade-point average during the fall. The entire group will be recognized at halftime of the men’s basketball game on February 19.
“I’m continuously impressed with the dedication our student-athletes show to their academic and athletic endeavors,” Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott said. “This long list further demonstrates that Binghamton student-athletes not only juggle their rigorous academic commitments but they strive for and achieve remarkable success.”
The 176 recipients (out of 407) on the AD Honor Roll comprise 43 percent of the total student-athlete body.
Additionally, the women’s soccer team will be honored on Feb. 19 for achieving a department-best 3.46 GPA in the fall. An astounding 21 women’s soccer players had a 3.3 or higher GPA and the program captured its second Team Academic Cup, awarded by the Student-Athlete Success Center to the sports program carrying the highest GPA each semester.

Binghamton student-athletes surpassed the 3.0 mark for the 16th consecutive semester and made it three semesters in a row above a 3.1.
