VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton Athletic Department has announced its 2012 Homecoming Weekend Schedule. Held from Oct. 12-14, the three-day, campus-wide event brings many alumni back to campus and includes numerous activities throughout the university.
This year, Late Nite Madness, the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony highlight the Athletic Department’s Homecoming Weekend events. In addition, there are home games for three of Binghamton’s fall sports programs and several alumni games.
For the fourth time in the past five years, Time Warner Sports will be televising the men’s soccer team’s Homecoming game, which will be against Vermont on Saturday, Oct. 13 starting at 7 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex. At 2 p.m., the women’s tennis team will hold its alumni matches at the new tennis facility. 30 minutes later the women’s basketball team will hold its alumni game at the Events Center. At that same time, the softball team will play its alumni game at its new complex and the men’s soccer team will have its alumni game at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
The volleyball team will launch Homecoming Weekend on Friday, Oct. 12 with a 6 p.m. match against conference rival Stony Brook at the West Gym. Late Nite Madness, which will introduce the 2012-13 men’s and women’s basketball teams, will take place at 9 p.m. that night at the Events Center. The doors will open at 8:30 p.m.
For the second year in a row, the men’s lacrosse team will hold its alumni game on the Friday of Homecoming Weekend, starting at 7 p.m.
On Sunday, Oct. 14, the women’s soccer team will wrap up Homecoming Weekend with a 1 p.m. game against Boston University at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
