VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton Athletic Department has announced the establishment of the Varsity Club and invites all of its former student-athletes to join as members. The Varsity Club welcomes any of the University’s intercollegiate athletes from any era to be part of its membership.  Dating back to 1946, this includes athletes from Triple Cities College, Harpur College, SUNY and Binghamton University.

Members of the Varsity Club will enjoy enhanced opportunities to reconnect with alumni of their sport and other teams throughout the years, to attend exclusive reunions and events and to support today’s student-athletes.

“We’re excited to honor the participation of all former student-athletes, coaches and managers and to celebrate the rich tradition and history of Binghamton University athletics,” Athletic Director Patrick Elliott said.

“Our mission is to promote and honor the contributions made by former Binghamton University athletes”, said Bette Anne Gaube, Assistant Athletic Director for Annual Giving.  “We are all united and connected as one family. Through strong and active membership participation, Varsity Club members can continue to support our current student-athletes and continue the successes they have helped build.”

All qualifying student-athlete alumni are eligible. There are currently no membership dues.  Student-athletes are encouraged to register to ensure they receive all membership communications and benefits. The online form may be found at:  All registered members will receive a Varsity Club window decal and membership card.

The Varsity Club web pages include updates, events, links and photo galleries, as well as news to connect with fellow members through Facebook and other social media.

The inaugural Varsity Club event will be held during the tailgate party at Homecoming, on Saturday, October 12.  Look for the Varsity Club Tent at the tailgate party. All student-athlete alumni will be admitted free. Registration for new members will be available, and members are invited for food, drinks, camaraderie and a Varsity Club special gift. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
