February 20, 2014Tweet
Each week during the 2014 season, we will take a closer look at one of the BU softball veterans. We continue this week with senior Lisa Cutrona.
1. FIRST MEMORY OF PLAYING SOFTBALL
I actually played baseball. My friend Katie and I were the only two girls on a YMCA team. We were definitely the all stars!
2. MY BIGGEST ATHLETIC THRILL
Making the BU softball team and catching for a whole season. I always wanted to catch!
3. WHAT I SEE MYSELF DOING AFTER BINGHAMTON
Going to graduate school and becoming a speech pathologist.
4. WHO HAS HAD THE GREAT IMPACT ON MY LIFE
5. MOST PEOPLE DON’T KNOW THIS ABOUT ME….
I play the piano. I am classically trained!
6. PRE-GAME RITUALS
Music! I definitely have my own personal jam session. I always get to the locker room early so that I can take my time and make sure that the eye black is perfect.
7. MY PREGAME SUPERSTITION
Too many to list! One of them is that I always put my right batting glove on before my left.
8. I CHOSE TO COME TO BINGHAMTON BECAUSE…
I truly believed I could become the best student-athlete possible at this school. It is the perfect combo.
9. WHAT I LIKE BEST ABOUT THE BINGHAMTON SOFTBALL FACILITY
What is not to like?? Being close to the Events Center, the stadium seating, scoreboard, step-down dugouts and the view of Texas Roadhouse (LOL).
10. THE THING THAT STANDS OUT MOST ABOUT THE BINGHAMTON COACHING STAFF
One that I’ve always admired is that they are involved in practice – literally! From pitching, to throwing on gear to catch for the pitchers, to filling in positions during intra-squad scrimmages. They can do it all! I also admire their competitiveness.
