February 16, 2012
Vestal, NY—
The Binghamton University men’s lacrosse team held its annual media day Wednesday, February 15 at the Events Center on the campus of BU. First year head coach Scott Nelson sat down for a few minutes to discuss the 2012 season and what he expects from his Bearcats. In 2011, Binghamton finished with a 7-8 record and made it to the America East tournament for the first time since 2009.
The Bearcats return six starters, including first team all-conference member senior long stick midfielder Ben Waldron. Waldron led BU in caused turnovers (30) and finished second in ground balls (49). On the offensive side, BU is led by junior midfielder Tyler Perrelle’s all-around game that accumulated 27 points in 2011. The Bearcats have a strong blend of youth and experience as three players were awarded on the All-Rookie squad a year ago.
BU opens the spring season on Feb. 25 against Lafayette at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
