VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women’s lacrosse coach Stephanie Allen completed the assembly of her coaching staff with the addition of Brittany Brigandi as an assistant coach. Brigandi joins Allison Daley, who was hired by Allen in late July, to round out the staff.
“I’m thrilled to have Brittany join our staff,” Allen said. “Her playing and coaching experience, along with her passion for the game will be a huge asset to our program. She will primarily focus on the offensive end, but also help with player development. I couldn’t be more pleased to have rounded out our staff with such a qualified and enthusiastic coaches.”
Brigandi arrives directly from Hamilton College where spent the past year as an assistant coach for the Division III program. Hamilton, the 2008 Division III National Champions and 2010 National Runnersup, went 9-8 in 2013 ending their season in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) tournament semifinals.
The Syracuse native began her collegiate playing career at Massachusetts before transferring to Le Moyne College for her final three seasons.
The 2012 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Midfielder of the Year was a two-time first-team All-American leading the Dolphins to the NCAA Tournament each year. She was selected the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year and was one of two Division II players to be named to the 2012 Tewaaraton Award Watch List. Brigandi was a two-time all-conference and all-region first team honoree.
Brigandi helped lead Le Moyne to a 34-6 record and a pair of Division II NCAA Championship semifinal appearances in her final two seasons. She set program records in career goals (182), goals in a season (87) and points in a season (106). Brigandi led all of Division II in goals scored in 2011, and her 87 tallies are the sixth-most for a single season in Division II history.
This past May the two-time Le Moyne Athlete of the Year was named to the inaugural Team STX, an elite post collegiate lacrosse team sponsored by the Baltimore-based company. The former Le Moyne star was the only player from the Division II level selected for the nine-member team.
Brigandi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in childhood and special education in 2012.
