Ambrozy Earns America East Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Sophomore helped guide Binghamton to third win in last four dual matches

VESTAL, N.Y.—Sophomore Agatha Ambrozy was named America East women’s tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday, making it three straight for the Bearcats in consecutive weeks. Ambrozy registered a singles and doubles win in Binghamton’s 5-2 victory over Temple this past Friday.
Alongside reigning AE Player of the Week Annie DiMuro, the Florida native picked up one of the bigger wins on Friday evening with a tight 8-7 (7-2) doubles win that clinched the all-important team point for the Bearcats. Playing at the two spot this season, Ambrozy is a perfect 2-0 for Binghamton who was won three of their past four dual matches.
In singles play, Ambrozy notched her seventh dual win of the season with a three-set win over Temple’s Anais Nussaume. She dropped the first set but bounced back with a dominant 6-2 showing in the second and finished things off with a 10-8 advantage in the third and final set.
Agatha ranks second on the team in dual victories (7) and has won three of her past four matches. She is a perfect 4-0 from the sixth spot in head coach Libby McGovern’s lineup and has 15 career singles victories in total.
BU will have a busy weekend coming up, they travel to nearby Ithaca to take on the Cornell Big Red on Saturday, March 22 and quickly turn around to play at Boston University on Sunday morning.
