VESTAL, N.Y. - More schedule changes have been announced for Binghamton baseball, which will now play its three-game series at Mt. St. Mary’s this Sunday and Monday, instead of Saturday and Sunday.
With rain expected in the Emmitsburg, Md. region on Saturday, the teams pushed their series back by one day. The teams will now play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday and finish up the series with a single game at 4 p.m. on Monday.
Earlier in the week, BU pushed back its home opener with winter weather still lingering in the Northeast. The Bearcats were scheduled to host Bucknell in a twinbill on Tuesday but that matchup was moved to a single game on April 8.
The shift will give BU five home games in a five-day span, beginning with what will now be the home opening doubleheader against UMBC on April 5. The three-game America East weekend series will be followed with the Bucknell game and then a single game against Cornell on April 9.
Binghamton currently sits at 5-13, 1-4 in league play. The defending conference champion Bearcats are the only school in the America East to finish in the top-three in each of the last seven seasons.
