VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton University Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Brian Jester as its new Assistant Athletic Director for Corporate Partnerships. He grew up in the local Binghamton area and arrives on campus having spent the past decade in working in college athletics. In addition, Jester has a sales and promotions background extending back nearly a quarter of a century.
“We are fortunate to add Brian as a member of our athletics staff,” Binghamton Senior Associate Athletic Director Dennis Kalina said. “He brings a wealth of experience and success from both the collegiate ranks as well as the private sector. Those factors combined with his energy and enthusiasm will be tremendous assets to athletics, the University and our community.”
Most recently, Jester was the Associate Athletic Director at SUNY Oneonta since 2009. He oversaw several new fundraising events and business partnerships as well as an increase in overall giving to the athletic department. He was also involved with increased student attendance at events.
The previous six years, Jester was the Director of Baseball Operations at the University of Georgia. Not only was he involved in the day-to-day operations, but he also developed new sources of revenue and increased alumni support for the program.
During his undergraduate career at Georgia, Jester was an ABCA All-American at first base for the 1990 squad that won the NCAA Championship. He was also part of the 1987 Bulldog squad that advanced to the College World Series.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in 1989, he also earned his master’s degree from Georgia in 2007.
From 1991-1996, Jester was a promotions manager for the California-based Easton Sports, Inc. He drafted and constructed player endorsement contracts between Easton Sports and their Major League Baseball and National Hockey League player clientele list.
In 1996, he joined C.A.F. Sales, Inc., in Montville, N.J., as a key account/sales representative for a three-state territory that included Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia. Jester was honored as the 2001 Sales Representative of the Year.
Jester graduated from nearby Union Endicott High School in 1985. He was an All-STAC selection at catcher and was a member of the school’s sectional-qualifying teams in 1984 and 1985.
