Brodsky Grabs America East Women’s Tennis Player of the Week Honors
Sophomore went a perfect 4-0 over the weekend to win BU's fourth AE weekly award

Cambridge, Mass.—For the fourth time in five weeks, the Binghamton women’s tennis team has a representative as America East Player of the Week. On Tuesday, sophomore Shea Brodsky was given the conference’s top weekly honor off a 4-0 weekend against both St. Bonaventure and St. John’s.
Brodsky helped guide Binghamton to a 7-0 win over St. Bonaventure on Friday with a pair of victories against the Bonnies. The Miami, Fla. native won 6-2,6-2 at sixth singles and also teamed up with classmate Alexis Tashiro for a quick 8-1 win at second doubles.
On Sunday against St. John’s, she was the only player to pick up a singles victory against the Red Storm. She won in straight sets at fifth singles and also managed to knock off SJU’s top doubles team alongside Tashiro.
Brodsky has really come on of late, winning four of her past six singles matches to take her singles record to 11-14. She is 4-2 from the sixth spot in BU’s lineup and 6-8 overall in dual competition.
In doubles, Brodsky is second on the team with 11 wins this season. She has six dual victories playing alongside Tashiro in 2014.
