Box Score

OLEAN, N.Y.—Binghamton women’s soccer (2-2) surrendered the game’s lone goal 4:17 into the first overtime and dropped a tough 1-0 decision to host St. Bonaventure (2-2) Sunday afternoon from a windy McGraw-Jennings Field. The defeat - BU’s second 1-0 overtime setback of the young season - snapped the team’s two-game win streak.

St. Bonaventure, which owned a 24-14 shots advantage, was awarded a free kick in its attacking end and senior defender Kaitlin Krisko headed in the winner. The ball caromed down off the crossbar and the officials ruled it had landed over the goal line for the game-winner.

The Bearcats registered nine shots in the first half but were outshot 17-5 the remainder of the game.

“We played a decent first half but need to do a better job sustaining our focus and commitment for the entire game,” head coach Sarah McClellan said. “We put in a good effort and look forward to geting back at at and trying to improve.”

Sophomore keeper Carrie Martin made 11 saves, including several acrobatic diving stops to keep the game scoreless through regulation.

Binghamton next plays at Lehigh on Friday.
