VESTAL, N.Y. – Senior second baseman Jessica Bump and freshman designated hitter Bridget Hunt have been named to the America East All-Tournament Softball Team. They were each selected based on their performances at the conference’s championship event this past weekend.
Bump, who was also named first-team all-conference for the second year in a row, went 3-for-9 (.333) during the America East Tournament with a pair of home runs. She homered in what would turn out to be her final career at-bat against Albany on Saturday.
For the season, Bump hit .310 with nine home runs and 29 RBI. She concluded her career ranked first all-time in program history with 63 stolen bases, second with 59 runs and third with 25 home runs and 97 RBI.
Hunt, meanwhile, hit a team-best .444 (4-for-9) during the tournament. In the Bearcats’ opener against Albany this past Thursday, she became the first player in program history to hit for the cycle.
Prior to the America East Tournament, Hunt was named to the conference’s All-Rookie Team. She finished the year with a .329 batting average, seven home runs and 25 RBI.
Binghamton (22-25) advanced to the America East Tournament for the third time in four seasons. The Bearcats have finished third each time.
