VESTAL, N.Y. – Freshman first baseman Lisa Cadogan has been named second-team All-Mid Atlantic Region by the NFCA. She is the third Binghamton softball player in the past four seasons to have earned all-region honors.
Cadogan was named the America East Rookie of the Year as the Bearcats’ starting first baseman. She was also named first-team all-conference and was member of the America East All-Rookie Team. A two-time conference Rookie of the Week selection (March 11 and 25), Cadogan was also named the America East Player of the Week on March 18.
For the 2013 season, Cadogan ranked sixth in the conference with a .333 batting average, tied for fourth with eight home runs and tied for first with 38 RBI. In addition, she was fourth in the America East with a .580 slugging percentage as well as 87 total bases and tied for first with six sacrifice flies.
Prior to Cadogan, senior outfielder Jessica Phillips was named first-team All-Mid Atlantic Region in both 2010 and 2011. Deannie Plemon was named to the second team in 2010.
Binghamton finished the 2013 campaign with a 30-17 record. The Bearcats went 14-4 in the America East and were the host school for the conference tournament May 9-11.
