VESTAL, N.Y.—Former Binghamton pitching ace Scott Diamond was dominant in his second straight Triple-A start on Wednesday, pitching six innings of scoreless ball in Rochester’s 2-1 home win over Pawtucket.

In two starts for the Red Wings, Diamond (2-0) hasn’t allowed a run in 12.3 innings. He has scattered eight hits, struck out nine and walked four.

Another former standout pitcher, Murphy Smith, has made one appearance at Double-A thus far this spring. Smith is on Oakland’s Midland team in the Texas League and tossed four scoreless innings of relief on Sunday. He struck out six and allowed no earned runs.
