VESTAL, N.Y.—Former softball standout Charlene Cook ‘98 will join six others as Binghamton University enshrine its 2012 Hall of Fame class at the 17th Annual Induction Ceremony at noon this Saturday in the Events Center. The luncheon and ceremony are part of Homecoming Weekend festivities, which also include Late Nite Madness to kick off the basketball seasons, home games for three of Binghamton’s fall sports programs and several alumni games.
Cook was the pitching ace of a softball program that was nationally-ranked all four of her collegiate seasons. A three-time all-region selection, she still holds the program record with 54 career wins and ranks second in both strikeouts (352) and earned run average (1.60). She led the team to a first-ever SUNYAC title in 1995.
