Golf On Top After Day One At FDU Invitational
Bearcats have three players in the top-5; Holling in second after 72 on Sunday

Hamburg, NJ— Binghamton shot an opening round score of 300 to grab hold of the lead following first round action at the FDU Invitational. Three players are in the top-5 individually, headlined by junior Josh Holling who’s in second place alone after a 72 (+1) at Crystal Springs Golf Club.
Holling shot 37 on the front and followed that up with an even lower back nine of 35. He led the entire field of 75 competitors by shooting a combined -1 on par fours. He is just one shot back of round one leader U Minn Woon of Fairleigh Dickinson who shot even par on Sunday.
Trailing Holling by a lone stroke is senior Bryce Edmister who sits in a tie for third place following Sunday. Edmister made three birdies during round one and is in search of his sixth top-10 finish of the 2013-14 campaign.
Jack Sedgewick registered a 74 (+3) and is tied with one other player at fifth place. Sedgewick had a good day of scoring, making a tournament-high six birdies at the conclusion of round one.
Sophomore Jesse Perkins saw his first action of the year in Hamburg, NJ, shooting a 81 (+10) to wrap up the Bearcats’ scorecard. Perkins is in a tie for 29th place.
The Bearcats are just two shots clear of tournament hosts Fairleigh Dickinson heading to the final 18 holes on Monday. Binghamton and the 15-team field will tee off tomorrow morning at 8 a.m..
