Golf Ends America Sky Championship In Fifth Place
Edmister racks up a fifth place finish on Sunday afternoon

Angels Camp, CA—Binghamton golf secured a fifth place finish at the 2014 America Sky Championship on Sunday afternoon from Greenhorn Creek Resort. The Bearcats tallied a 309 during the final round and tallied up a 54-hole score of 927 to claim fifth place alone in a field of seven teams.
Senior Bryce Edmister nailed down his seventh top-10 finish of the 2013-14 season with a 77 on Sunday. Edmister shot +7 for the tournament with a three-day total of 224. He ends 2013-14 with Binghamton’s top scoring average at 73.7.
Junior Jack Sedgewick notched 79 (+7) and took 16th in the 35-man field. Sedgewick shot even on the back nine, including birdies on 15 and 18. He finished his third season at BU with three top-10 and one top-20 finish.
With a team-leading 75 (+3) on Sunday, Josh Holling finished in a tie for 24th with a 54-hole total of 237. Holling, who started his round on the 10th hole, recorded seven straight pars and actually was -1 through his first 13 holes of play. Despite a difficult finish in, Holling moved up three spots from his position a day ago.
Freshman Kyle Wambold recorded BU’s lone eagle for the tournament with a three on the short par five 18th. Wambold went on to shoot 78 during his final round and stayed put in a tie for 28th place at the conclusion of the event.
Northern Colorado led from start-to-finish and earned a NCAA tournament bid with a 26-stroke victory on Sunday. The Bears beat out tournament hosts and second place Sacramento State with a 54-hole total of 875 (+3). UNC’s Ben Krueger shot -4 on the back nine to claim individual medalist honors.
The Bearcats wrapped up the 2013-14 campaign with a pair of victories and eight top-5 finishes. Edmister, a graduating senior, capped off a terrific career with a combined nine finishes in the top-20 or better.
