Golf In Fifth Place After Two Rounds Of Rutherford Intercollegiate
Edmister and Sedgewick tied for 21st after play Saturday

State College, PA—Binghamton sits in fifth place after the first two rounds of play at the Rutherford Intercollegiate. The Bearcats were tied for first after the first 18 holes with a score of 302, but fell to fifth after a 301 on Saturday afternoon. Maryland holds a nine stroke lead over hosts Penn State with a two-day score of 589.
The Bearcats carry a score of 603 (+35), which is just five strokes off the second place Nittany Lions and 14 off the lead. Junior Bryce Edmister and sophomore Jack Sedgewick head into Sunday’s final round in 21st place after a 36 hole total of 151 (+9). Senior David Cellura shot rounds of 75 and 77, and sits in 28th place after a score of +12.
Sophomore Josh Holling bounced back after an opening round 81 with a team-best 73 on Saturday afternoon in brutal weather conditions. Holling has five top-20 finishes this season, which is currently second on the team. BU is in search of their fifth top-5 finish of the season as play will continue at 7:30 am Sunday morning.
