Hamilton, N.Y.—After 36 holes of play, Binghamton currently sits just three strokes back of leaders Youngstown State at the Colgate Invitational. BU has a team score of 584 (+8) at Seven Oaks GC, three strokes clear of third place Lehigh University. Senior Bryce Edmister and freshman Kyle Wambold turned in excellent performances on Saturday, tallying 36-hole totals of 144 (E).

After a difficult opening round of 303, the Bearcats bounced back with a team-low round of 281 (-7) on Saturday afternoon in the second round—their lowest of the 2013 season. All four players shot under par in their lineup in the afternoon, headlined by Wambold and Edmister who both registered 70’s. Both players are just one shot shy of the individual leader, Trevor Jones of Youngstown State.

Also in the top-10 individually is junior Josh Holling, who followed up a 76 with a two-under round of 70 on Saturday. Fellow junior Stephen Mincone also performed tremendously in the second round, firing a 71 at the par 72 Seven Oaks GC.

Action continues on Sunday morning as Binghamton looks to jump ahead of reigning Colgate Invitational champions Youngstown State. The Bearcats are looking for their first title in Hamilton since 2008.
