Golf winds up eighth in Bruce Williams Memorial Tournament
Edmister finishes tied for 20th in final fall event for BU

San Antonio, TX—In what was their final fall tuneup, the Binghamton golf team finished in eighth place overall at the Bruce Williams Memorial Invitational held at The Dominion Club in San Antonio. The Bearcats shot a 54-hole team total of 910 in the 12-team tournament field. Junior Bryce Edmister continued his strong play, finishing in a team-best 20th place with a two-day total of 225 (+9).
After an opening round 75, Edmister put forth Binghamton’s best individual performance of the tournament, firing a second round 72 (E). Alongside sophomore Josh Holling, who also shot a 72 that very same round, the Bearcats turned in a scorecard of 294. On Tuesday, Edmister registered a 78 (+6) and in the process tied with three others at nine-over par for the event.
As mentioned earlier, Josh Holling was stellar in round two on the way to a 24th place finish. Holling, who has had four top-10 finishes this season, finished out strong after a struggle in the opening round by playing the next 36 holes at just three-over par.
Senior David Cellura shot a final round 76 on his way to a 38th place finish, while sophomore Jack Sedgewick and freshman Jesse Perkins rounded up the scoring finishing in 39th and 41st place respectively.
Abilene Christian won the event in impressive fashion, winning by 33 strokes over Cameron University. With a total of 851, ACU finished at 13 under par as a team and had three players in top-5 individually, including tournament winner Corbin Renner who notched a three-round score of 12-under.
With the completion of the Bruce Memorial Tournament, Binghamton wraps up a very successful fall. BU grabbed four top-5 team finishes which was highlighted by their fourth straight win at the Cornell Invitational.
