Plantation, FL—Former BU standout and recent 2011 graduate Jake Katz failed to qualify for the third and final round of PGA Q School at the Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club this past Saturday afternoon. Katz, who began the tournament with an opening round 67 (-4), was unable to stay in the top-20 after rounds of 73 and 75 knocked him back to finish tied for 60th.
“It was great to have Jake make it through Stage 1 of PGA Tour School,” BU head coach Bernie Herceg said. “He put in an outstanding effort, in what was his first experience in PGA Q School competition. I know Jake was disappointed on not making it through to the final stage, but Jake will take this experience and become a stronger competitor and golfer. We look forward to his future success.”
