Lister named CAA Wrestler of Month; Gwiazdowski is co-Rookie of Month
Pair are combined 20-3, have put Bearcats into national rankings

VESTAL, N.Y.—Binghamton wrestling has been further rewarded for its fast start to the 2011-12 season as two individuals have earned honors from the Colonial Athletic Association. Senior 157-pound Justin Lister was named one of the CAA Wrestlers of the Month and freshman heavyweight Nick Gwiazdowski was selected as the co-Rookie of the Month. The Bearcats (6-0) are No. 25 in the latest NWCA/USA Today rankings - the first time the team has earned inclusion among the nation’s elite.
Lister, ranked No. 6 in the nation in the latest Intermat poll, is 10-1, including a perfect 6-0 in duals. He was runnerup at the BU Open after scoring a 6-5 decision over the nation’s fifth-ranked wrestler, Walter Peppelman of Harvard. Lister went 4-1 with three pins before is great run ended with a 6-2 loss to top-ranked Kyle Dake of Cornell in the championship match. Lister has a team-high six pins.
Gwiazdowski is 10-2 overall, 3-1 in duals. He captured a title at the BU Open with a pin in the championship match and then reached the finals at the Cornell Body Bar Invitational. Gwiazdowski is No. 11 in the latest Open Mat rankings.
