WEST POINT, N.Y. – Junior Alexis Murray swept the women’s long jump and triple jump titles, highlighting Binghamton’s performance at the Army 6-Way Indoor Track Meet on Saturday afternoon. The Bearcat women were third in the team standings while the men placed fifth overall.
Murray’s winning distances were 18-0 in the long jump and 38-5 in the triple jump. Freshman Kierra Arthur was the runner-up in the triple jump (37-8.50) and won the 60 hurdles (8.85). In the process, she recorded the fastest time ever in that event by a Binghamton freshman.
Also turning in a first-place performance on the women’s side was junior Camille Ginyard in the pole vault (11-3 ¾).
On the men’s side, senior Adam Helman captured the pole vault (15-3).
Monmouth took top honors in the women’s meet while the host Black Knights were first in the men’s competition.
Up next for Binghamton is the Cornell Upstate Challenge next Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
