Men’s cross country competes at Princeton Invitational
Bearcats tie UMBC for seventh out of 30 teams, Papastrat places 24th overall

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Vasili Papastrat placed a team-best 24th overall, highlighting the Binghamton men’s cross country team’s performance at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday. The Bearcats tied for seventh place (with UMBC) out of 30 competing teams at the event.
Papastrat was Binghamton’s top men’s runner for the second meet in a row, completing the 8,000-meter course in a time of 24:29. Junior Collin Frost was 31st (24:38), sophomore Ethan Hausamann was 42nd (24:48), sophomore Matt Johnson was 50th (24:54) and senior Chris Fernandez was 63rd (25:05).
Tyler Mueller of Lehigh won the 272-runner event with a time of 23:36. Villanova, meanwhile, captured the team title.
The Bearcat men will next compete at the America East Championships on Nov. 2. The women, meanwhile, will return to action at the Central Connecticut State Mini-Meet on Friday.
