SETTING THE SCENE
The Bearcats look to bounce back after their 11-3 loss Saturday at home to Hartford. After Matt Springer’s goal with 12:03 remaining in the second quarter, Hartford held BU scoreless for a 36-minute stretch as they ballooned their lead to 10-2 midway through the fourth quarter. Springer scored two goals in defeat and in the process became just the second player in program history to hit the 100-point mark. He joins fellow teammate Tyler Perrelle who currently has 107 career points. Sophomore Tucker Nelson had a goal and assist Saturday, improving his team-leading point total to 29. Junior goalie Max Schefler recorded his eighth double digit save game this season in defeat. He has started all 11 games in net for the Bearcats.

Canisius defeated Manhattan 8-6 on the road Saturday, snapping a three-game losing skid. Three players recorded a pair of goals on the afternoon for the Golden Griffs as they outshot Manhattan 32-25. Tim Edwards scored a pair of goals Saturday and leads the team with 28 points on the season. Freshman Vince Gravino has started all 10 games for Canisius on the attack this season; scoring 17 goals on just 46 shots. Mike Moran handles the faceoffs for the Golden Griffs, winning over 57 percent of his attempts. Moran has 55 ground balls on the year. Canisius is still in search of their first home win of the season (0-4).

MIRRORED OPPONENTS
Binghamton and Canisius have played five similar teams this season on their schedule (#6 Cornell, #10 Albany, Hobart, Siena and Manhattan). Canisius is 1-4 versus these teams in 2013, while Binghamton is 2-3. The Golden Griffs battled America East leaders Albany to the wire, but came up short losing 12-11 back on March 9. Both teams have defeated Manhattan this season.

SUCCESS AGAINST THE MAAC
Over Binghamton’s 12 year Division-I history, they have excelled against the MAAC. Overall, the Bearcats are 11-5 (.688), including a perfect 7-0 record versus both Canisius and Marist. This season, BU is 1-1 against the MAAC, losing a 9-8 heartbreaker to Siena in their season opener and most recently defeating Manhattan 13-6 on March 16.

ON THE ASSIST
Sophomore Tucker Nelson has 21 assists this season, tying him for the second best single season mark in school history with Chris Mulheron who dished out 21 assists in 2006. The record is held by Matt McNamara who distributed 23 assists back in 2004. Nelson has recorded an assist in all but one game this season and has dished out three or more assists on three separate occasions in 2013. He’s currently third in the America East conference with 1.91 assists per game.
