Vestal, N.Y.—The Binghamton men’s lacrosse team has changed their scheduled scrimmage against Marist from Saturday to Sunday. The game will take place at the Bearcats Sports Complex beginning at 1 p.m..
The Bearcats return a huge majority of their team from a season ago, including six starters and their top-5 scorers. Binghamton also will have the services of standout attackman Matt Springer, who was unable to play a season ago due to injury. Springer tallied 58 goals over his first two collegiate seasons.
Marist and Binghamton did not meet in 2012, but both teams have seen plenty of each other over the years. Binghamton has enjoyed great success against the MAAC school, winning all five meetings during regular season play. Marist finished the 2012 season with a 6-8 record and earned a trip to their conference tournament. The Red Foxes were picked to finish second in a recent MAAC Coaches’ Poll done this past week.
Before BU begins their regular season opener at Siena (Feb. 23), the Bearcats also wrap up their preseason with a scrimmage at Princeton next Sunday at 1 p.m.
