VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton men’s soccer team’s season opener on Friday at Colgate will be televised regionally by Time Warner Sports. In the local Binghamton area, the game will air on HD Channel 813. Start time is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
The Raiders are the defending Patriot League champions and return eight of their 11 starters from 2011. Last season, Binghamton played Colgate to a 1-1 tie. Since 2006, the Bearcats are 2-1-3 against Colgate.
Binghamton, which was picked to finish sixth in the America East Pre Season Poll, returns nine starters and 16 letterwinners from last year’s team. Senior forward Jake Keegan led the team with seven goals last year, senior back Trey Jasenski was named second-team all-conference while sophomore midfielder Tucker Sandercock earned America East All-Rookie honors.
Since 2008, the Bearcats have appeared on three regionally-televised games, all which were carried by Time Warner Sports. In addition, Binghamton’s 2009 game against Boston University was carried nationally by Fox Soccer Channel. All four games took place at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
