VESTAL, N.Y. - On the strength of six wins in its last seven matches, Binghamton men’s tennis (8-4) has moved into the national rankings. In the latest ITA team rankings, the Bearcats moved in at No. 75.
The team is coming off a 4-1 win over Georgetown and also posted solid wins over William & Mary (4-3) and Army (5-2) recently.
“It’s nice to be recognized for the work we’ve done so far this spring,” head coach Adam Cohen said. “We still have a long way to go to reach our goals but this is a start in that direction. We have several upcoming matches against ranked opponents so I know the guys are looking forward to the challenge. It will give us something to prove as we try to keep moving up the rankings.”
Binghamton next faces No. 27 Columbia and Fordham on Saturday in Manhattan. Also looming later in the month are battles against No. 47 UNC-Wilmington, No. 60 Central Florida and No. 70 Yale.
