VESTAL, N.Y.—Binghamton men’s tennis sent seven players to the Cornell Fall Invitational over the weekend with freshman Alexander Maisin gaining the most success. Maisin advanced to the finals in the “White” singles draw and also reached the title match in the doubles bracket. The four-team, three-day event was held at Cornell’s Reis Tennis Center.

Players from Binghamton, Buffalo and Colgate will join the host Big Red. The event will feature two singles brackets and one doubles bracket.

Maisin won three straight matches - all in straight sets - before succumbing 6-1, 6-3, to Spencer Clark of Cornell, in the final. Maisin dispatched three straight opponents from Cornell before meeting Clark.

In doubles, Maisin paired with classmate Eliott Hureau to win three matches and reach the final. There, the tandem dropped an 8-3 match to the top-seeded pair from Cornell.

Hureau won twice in the “White” singles draw and freshman Janik Burri won two matches in the “White” consolation draw.

After a first-round loss, sophomores Robin Lesage and Ismael Dinia won twice in the consolation bracket - both wins coming over teams from Colgate.

Next up for the Bearcats is the ITA Northeast Regional, which begins Thursday at Yale.
