VESTAL, N.Y.—Nearly half of Binghamton student-athletes earned a 3.3 or higher grade-point average for the spring semester. Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott announced that 172 student-athletes met the lofty 3.3 GPA threshold for the semester and have been recognized on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. The number of honorees represents 47 percent of BU’s total student-athlete body.
“This long list of worthy individuals further indicates the academic commitment of our student-athletes and shows that their dedication on the playing field is matched with equal achievement in the classroom.” Elliott said.
The list of recipients on the AD Honor Roll includes members of all 21 athletics teams at Binghamton. The release comes on the heels of two other crowning academic achievements from the fall. Last week, the America East released its own Academic Honor Roll and for the seventh consecutive year, Binghamton had the most selections with more than 60 percent of its student-athletes at or above the 3.0 GPA. The department also released its all-sports GPA and in recording a 3.09, Binghamton student-athletes surpassed the 3.0 plateau for the 13th consecutive semester.
