VESTAL, N.Y. – Sophomore midfielder Rebecca Raber has been named the America East Player of the Week. It marks the first time in her career that she has earned the conference’s weekly award.
Raber finished the week with four points as Binghamton went 2-0-0 to stretch its winning streak to four games. She had a goal and an assist in Binghamton’s 2-0 win over Lafayette on Friday and tallied an assist on the game-winning goal against Niagara on Sunday. Raber played a part in three of the Bearcats’ five goals during the week.
“Rebecca did a great job for us this week,” head coach Sarah McClellan said. “Her goal against Lafayette on Friday was world class and she set up her teammates well on the other two goals.”
Binghamton (4-1-0) has now posted the America East’s Player of the Week two weeks in a row. Sophomore forward Stephani Church was tabbed last week.
The Bearcats head to Temple on Friday for a 4 p.m. game.
