Softball announces 2014 incoming class
Seven freshmen to join program this coming year

VESTAL, N.Y.—The Binghamton softball team will welcome seven newcomers later this month. All of them will join the Bearcats as freshman for the 2014 season.
Gabby Bracchi (Wappinger Falls, N.Y.) is an outfielder from John Jay-East Fishkill. She was a four-year letterwinner and was named all-league, all-section and was a Poughkeepsie Journal All-Star. Bracchi played travel ball with both the Newtown Rock Gold and Hudson Valley Hurricanes.
Lizi Campbell (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) is a pitcher from C.W. Baker High School. She was a four-year team MVP and was named second-team all-league twice during her career. Campbell played travel ball with HomeRun Softball, which is based out of Syracuse.
Shelby Donhauser (Kenmore, N.Y.) is a pitcher/infielder from Kenmore West High School. She was named first-team All-Western New York as a senior and was a seventh-team all-state selection by the NYSSWA. Donhauser played travel ball with the Amherst Lightning.
Crysti Eichner (Pine Bush, N.Y.) is an infielder from Pine Bush High School. She was a three-time first team all-star and was her team’s Offensive MVP the last three years. Eichner played travel ball with the Frozen Ropes Force and also played basketball and soccer at Pine Bush.
Bridget Hunt (Croydon, Pa.) is an outfielder from Harry S. Truman High School. She was a four-time Suburban One All-League selection and finished her career with 100 hits and 53 stolen bases. Hunt played travel ball with the Pennsbury Gems and Team Reno.
Kim Santiago (Rock Tavern, N.Y.) is an infielder from Washingtonville High School. She was a four-year letterwinner and team captain. After hitting .438 as a sophomore, Santiago batted .360 as a junior. She played travel ball with both the Frozen Ropes Force and Hudson Valley Hurricanes.
Annika Wiesinger (Brighton, Mich.) is a pitcher from International Academy. In 2012, she was named first-team all-conference as well as second-team All-Area by the Millford Times. Wiesinger played travel ball with the Michiana Cruisers and So Cal Crunch.
“We are very excited to start our fall season with the addition of our seven freshmen,” head coach Michelle Burrell said. “They form a well-rounded class that not only consists of great players but also excellent students. They are all coming off competitive summer seasons with their travel ball programs and we look forward to the impact they will make upon our program.”
Binghamton finished the 2013 season 30-17 (14-4 AE) and was the host school for the America East Tournament.
