ITHACA, N.Y.—The Binghamton track & field squads turned in a pair of school records and four first-place performances at the Upstate Indoor Track Challenge at Cornell on Saturday afternoon. In the team standings, both the Bearcat men’s and women’s squads placed third out of seven teams.
For the second week in a row, junior Alexis Murray swept both the women’s long jump and triple jump titles. Her long jump mark of 18-11 ¾ broke the school record of 18-9 ¾ set by Nathalee McKenzie back in 2000. Murray’s triple jump mark was 39-3 ¼ . Both of her performances met the ECAC standard.
The other school record was turned in by sophomore Ivory Taussig, who was third in the 60 with a time of 7.80. Kim Williams set the old record of 7.84 back in 2006.
