BU men second, women third at N.Y. Upstate Outdoor Track Challenge
Murray Sweeps Women's Long Jump and Triple Jump Events

VESTAL, N.Y. – Junior Alexis Murray swept both of the women’s jump events, highlighting Binghamton’s performance at the New York State Outdoor Track & Challenge on Friday afternoon at the East Gym Complex. The Bearcat men placed second in the three-team meet while the women finished third. Cornell swept both team titles.
Murray took top honors in the triple jump with an ECAC-qualifying distance of 40-2. In the long jump, she recorded a first-place performance of 18-7.
On the men’s side, meanwhile, Binghamton had five individual winners. Senior Mike Jennings was first in the 400 (48.50) while fellow senior Jeff Martinez won the 5,000 (15:35.93). Sophomore Pat Heikkila won the shot put (48-1 ¼), senior Adam Helman captured the javelin (173-1) and senior Greg Feathers was first in the discus (151-1).
Up next for Binghamton is Penn Relays, which will be held next Thursday-Saturday.
