Both teams struggled offensively but while Binghamton took 62 shots as opposed to Maine’s 47, it made only 18 of its attempts en route to a 29 percent performance for the game. Maine shot 32 percent for the game.

“Hats off to Maine for getting the win,” head coach Nicole Scholl said. “They are a hungry team. But we had a difficult day shooting. It wasn’t until the second half that we started finding the range.”

Baranowksi broke a 37-37 tie on a layup with 4:50 left in regulation. Following a Bearcat miss, Brittany Williams made it a five-point game with her second three-point field goal of the game.

Senior point guard Andrea Holmes, who finished with a team-high 14 points, scored four unanswered points, trimming the deficit to 42-41 with 2:21 remaining. Neither team was able to find the range the next two possessions. In the final 30 seconds, however, Baranowski and Ashleigh Roberts each went 2-for-2 from the free throw line to ice the game.

Senior forward Viive Rebane finished with a game-high 11 rebounds, marking the second game in a row she has reached double figures on the boards. Sophomore guard Vaneeshia Paulk added a career-high eight points.

Binghamton returns home to face Stony Brook on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in a game that will be televised regionally on Time Warner Sports.
