VESTAL, N.Y. – Visiting Boston (20-4, 10-1 AE) landed five players in double figures and shot 49 percent (26-of-53) en route to a 73-51 win over Binghamton (4-20, 3-8 AE) in an America East women’s basketball game on Saturday afternoon at the Events Center. The loss marked the third straight setback for the Bearcats.

Whitney Turner led the balanced Terrier attack with 14 points, followed by Rashidat Agboola with 13 points and 10 rebounds, Kirsten Sims and Danielle Callahan with 11 points each and Chantell Alford with 10 points. In addition, Mo Moran finished with six points, nine assists and seven rebounds.

Up 15-11 with 7:55 left in the first half, Boston scored 15 unanswered points over the ensuing 4:38 to go up 30-11. Callahan led the way with eight points, including a pair of three pointers during that stretch.

“Give Boston credit,” head coach Nicole Scholl said. “They made the separation late in the first half. We played better in the second half but that first-half run was a big difference.”

In the second half, the Bearcats got as close as 57-44 on a three pointer by freshman guard Kandace Newry with 5:17 left in regulation. Binghamton, however, would not make another field goal the rest of the way.

The Terriers ended the game on a 12-4 run over the last 3:42. Turner led the way with six points during that stretch.

Sophomore forward Sherae Swinson led the Bearcats with nine points, a career-high 11 rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Binghamton hosts Stony Brook on Wednesday in a game that will be televised regionally on Time Warner Cable Sports.

NOTES: Swinson and Agboola were the America East Players of the Game.
