Women’s cross country places fifth at CCSU Mini Meet

NEW BRITAIN, Conn.—Senior Rachel Miura placed 16th overall. leading the Binghamton women’s cross country team at the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet on Friday afternoon at Stanely Quarter Park. The Bearcats were fifth overall out of 14 competing teams at the meet.

Miura covered the 3,000-meter course in a time of 10:41. Freshman Alexis Hatcher was 20th overall (10:46), following by fellow freshmen Lizzie Greiner (28th; 10:58), Naomi Barnett (35th; 11:01) and Liz Valento (51st; 11:19).

Eimear Black of Bryant won the 100-runner race in a time of 10:03. Yale was first in the team standings with 24 points.

Binghamton’s men’s squad is idle this week.

Both Bearcat squads return to action on Oct. 27 at the America East Championship Meet in New Hampshire.
