VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton women’s lacrosse team held its annual Media Day in preparation of its 2014 campaign. Second-year head coach Stephanie Allen along with captains Erica Foley and Alex Fisher spoke to the local media about the Bearcats’ expectations for the 2014 season.
The Bearcats return 13 letterwinners from the 2013 team after losing a program-high eight seniors to graduation last May. Six starters remain from the final lineup of 2013 including three of the team’s top-six point-scorers. Allen will also have the luxury of two experienced goalies in junior Kara Pafumi and sophomore Erin McNulty. McNulty and classmate Allie Rodgers were named to the 2013 America East All-Rookie Team after successful freshman seasons.
Binghamton begins its season at home on Saturday, February 22 against Howard at 3 p.m. The game is the second-half of a double-header as both lacrosse programs begin their home schedules on Saturday. The men, who defeated Sacred Heart 8-6 in their season-opener on Sunday, host Siena Saturday at noon.
