2012 in Review
Binghamton (8-8-1, 3-4-1, 8th in America East) closed out its season with back-to-back road wins but came up one victory shy of advancing to the postseason. After winning six of its first eight games, the Bearcats suffered through a mid-season scoring drought (2 goals in seven games) and three one-goal defeats kept them from a playoff spot. Senior forward Sarah Furminger earned second team all-conference honors after tallying a team-high six goals. Furminger ranked second in the league with four game-winning goals and was fourth in points per game. Junior midfielder Emma Kurth played every minute of every game and exemplified BU’s considerable academic achievement with selection to the America East All-Academic Team. The Bearcats had an incredible 29 student-athletes named to the conference honor roll and produced a team GPA well above the 3.0 mark for the 12th straight year.
