VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women’s soccer extended its streak of academic achievement with accolades from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The NSCAA released its 2013-14 Team Academic awards and the Bearcats are among the honorees after achieving a 3.42 grade-point average during the year.
It marks the 13th consecutive year that the program has eclipsed the 3.0 threshold. The team’s 3.42 mark was the second-highest in the America East.
“It’s a great accomplishment by our student-athletes,” head coach Sarah McClellan said. “It demonstrates their commitment to school work, future thinking and career preparation. Striving for excellence on the field and off the field is an every-day, all-the-time pursuit.”
The Bearcats are coming off a season in which they advanced to the America East tournament for the 11th time in 13 years.
