DURHAM, N.H. – Binghamton (5-3-2, 0-0-1 AE) played to a scoreless tie at New Hampshire (2-5-3, 0-0-1 AE) in an America East Conference women’s soccer game on Sunday afternoon. The shutout was the second straight for the Bearcats.

Binghamton held a 15-10 shot advantage for the game.  During regulation, the Bearcats held a 10-7 edge. In the first overtime, play opened up and both teams had three shots each. The Bearcats had the only two shots of the final sudden-death period.

“There were a lot of nerves on both sides since this was the first conference game of the year,” head coach Sarah McClellan said. “It’s not too bad to get a point in the standings on the road. New Hampshire is a solid, hard-working team and we also played hard today.”

Senior goalkeeper Carrie Martin played all 90 minutes of regulation. She finished with a pair of saves. Junior goalkeeper Gaby Gold finished out the game and recorded the Bearcats’ other save.

In 10 games this season, the Bearcats have shut out the opposition five times.

The Bearcats return home to host UMBC at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
