Women’s Tennis Downs Seton Hall 5-2 Sunday

West Point, N.Y.—Binghamton (2-3) defeated Seton Hall 5-2 Sunday afternoon at Lichtenberg Tennis Center. Freshman Sara Kohtz completed a perfect 3-0 weekend with a 7-6(7-1),7-5 win at the second singles spot.

The Bearcats took two of three doubles matches to begin the day. The Freshman duo of Shea Brodsky and Alexis Tashiro picked up a 8-5 victory, while Kohtz and sophomore Missy Edelblum secured the team point with an 8-4 win of their own. Binghamton wrapped up doubles play with a 6-3 record over three dual matches.

Led by Kohtz, BU won four of the six singles matches at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center. Brodsky, Tashiro and fellow freshman Agatha Ambrozy all notched wins for Binghamton (two of the four matches went to a decisive third set). With the win, Ambrozy improved her record to 3-2 this season in dual matches.

Next weekend, Binghamton squares off with Farleigh Dickinson on Saturday at 5 p.m.. Binghamton looks to avenge a 6-1 loss they suffered last year to the Knights.
