WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y.- The University at Buffalo defeated visiting Binghamton (1-4) by a final tally of 6-1 at Miller Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. The Bulls, who won their seventh dual match of the season, won six of seven matches on their home court. Freshman Annie DiMuro was the lone BU player to capture a victory.
DiMuro won in three sets from the third position in Binghamton’s lineup, defeating UB’s Kotok in three sets. After losing the opening set, DiMuro won 7-5 in the second and outlasted Kotok 10-6 in the final set. Her victory on Saturday is her third straight and 11th overall in singles this year (including fall tournament action).
The top three singles matches all went the distance as Binghamton was unable to pull out three set wins in either the first or second positions in their lineup. BU was forced to play without a third doubles team or sixth player in their singles lineup once again on Saturday.
Binghamton will wrap up their road trip by taking on Colgate on Sunday. The dual match will take place at noon tomorrow from Hamilton, N.Y..
