Women’s Tennis Loses At Niagara 4-3 Late Friday
Ambrozy and DiMuro notch a pair of victories over the Purple Eagles

NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y.—Binghamton (1-4) was narrowly defeated on Friday evening, losing on the road 4-3 to Niagara. The Bearcats were forced to default at third doubles and sixth singles due to injury and illness, losing out on a possible two team points against the Purple Eagles.
Both Agatha Ambrozy and Annie DiMuro picked up a pair of victories on Friday. The two paired together to defeat Briseno/Ortiz at second doubles by a score of 8-1. On the singles court, Ambrozy improved to a perfect 4-0 with a straight set win over Briseno in the fifth spot, while DiMuro also won in quick fashion with a 6-2,6-2 victory.
Binghamton’s other win came at second singles from sophomore Alexis Tashiro. The Jamaica, N.Y. native improved to 3-2 in duals this season with a 6-2,6-2 win over Ashley Ta.
With the score knotted at three apiece, Niagara’s Sarah Hellstern outlasted Katya Medianik from the top singles position with a 6-2, 6-7 (0-7), 7-5 win to pull out the team victory. They improve to 3-2 in duals this season, while Binghamton falls to 1-4.
Up next on the schedule is a short trip to take on Buffalo on Saturday. The two teams will square off at 1 p.m. at the Miller Tennis Center in Williamsville, N.Y..
