Women’s Tennis Will Not Compete In ECAC Championships This Weekend

Vestal, N.Y.—The Binghamton women’s tennis team will not be competing in this weekend’s ECAC Championship which was scheduled to take place Feb.7-9 at Columbia. The Bearcats will have a week off to prepare for their next dual match, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Feb. 15 against Fordham. The match will be held at the Binghamton Tennis Center (3801 Mill St, Binghamton, NY 13903), located just 7 miles from the Binghamton campus.

Binghamton (1-2) was busy this past weekend, competing against Army, Sacred Heart and Seton Hall at West Point.  After losing on Friday evening to Army, BU bounced back with a strong performance over Sacred Heart, defeating the Pioneers 5-2. They won five of six singles matches on the way to their first dual win of the early spring season. On Sunday, they were upended by Seton Hall, 4-2, but received victories from sophomores Agatha Ambrozy and Alexis Tashiro. Ambrozy went a perfect 3-0 over the weekend from the sixth singles position and Tashiro notched a 2-1 record playing near the top of BU’s lineup.
