Wrestling loses at No. 16 Bloomsburg 36-9

BLOOMSBURG, Pa.—Sixteenth-ranked Bloomsburg rattled off six straight wins to start the evening and the host Huskies (17-3) pinned a 36-9 loss on Binghamton Thursday night at the Nelson Field House. The match was the final dual for the Bearcats (5-13), who sat three starters with the CAA Championship on the horizon.

Junior 184-pound Cody Reed earned a third-period pin to give the Bearcats six points. Reed notched his fourth straight win and improved to 15-13 overall (10-8 duals) with his pin of Sam Shirley. One bout earlier, sophomore 174-pound John Paris scored a 12-9 decision to get Binghamton on the board.

The Bearcats rested their nationally-ranked duo - 149-pound Donnie Vinson (No. 4) and 197-pound Nate Schiedel (No. 5). Both finished their seasons with unblemished dual meet records. Vinson is 27-1 overall (17-0 duals). Schiedel is 24-2 overall (17-0). Binghamton also kept sophomore heavyweight Tyler Deuel on the sidelines, forfeiting the final match of the night.

Sophomore 141-pound Joe Bonaldi returned to the starting lineup after a three-month absence and dropped a 9-3 decision.
