VESTAL, N.Y.—Host and No. 10 Oklahoma won seven of the 10 bouts to defeat Binghamton 31-9 Sunday night at McCasland Field House.

Seniors Donnie Vinson (11-0) and Nate Schiedel (10-0) remained unbeaten with solid decisions. Junior 184-pound Cody Reed worked overtime to secure BU’s other win - a 7-5 decision.

With five ranked wrestlers, the Sooners (4-1) used a pin, forfeit points, tech fall and two major decisions to compile their points.

Vinson, No. 1 in the nation at 149 pounds (AWN), improved to 110-24 in his stellar career, including a 60-8 career dual record. He scored a first-period takedown and worked from the bottom for a reversal early in the second period to go ahead 4-0. In the third period, Vinson added a reversal, takedown and riding time for the final 9-2 decision.

Schiedel, ranked No. 7 at 197, raised his career record to 101-28, 54-10 in duals. He recorded two takedowns in the first period to forge ahead 5-3. In the second period, Schiedel added another takedown in the second period and two more in the third plus riding time for the final 13-6 margin.

Reed used a quick takedown to start the third overtime period and end his match with a 7-5 decision. He had escaped early in the third period to force the extra sessions. After a scoreless first overtime, each wrestler escaped in the second.

Binghamton has two matches this weekend closer to home, competing at Princeton Friday night and at CAA member Boston University Sunday afternoon.
