Release: September 20, 2007 Lewis spent the previous eight years with the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL) as the Director of Marketing, Promotions & Fan Development. In that capacity, he managed the organization's marketing, branding, special events, promotional and grassroots efforts. In addition, Lewis managed the Capitals' relationship with its alumni players and co-managed a variety of charitable initiatives. Prior to his time with the Capitals, Lewis served as the Assistant Director of Marketing for the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) from 1997-99. He was responsible for the league's marketing, branding, sponsorship and team services efforts. During the 1996-97 season, Lewis was the Account Executive for the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, he served as the Corporate Sales and Marketing Intern for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) in 1996. Chris Lewis is a hard-working, competent, and loyal individual with outstanding credentials that will bring a tremendous attitude, presence and energy to our staff, Binghamton Senior Associate Athletic Director Jason Siegel said. A 1992 graduate of Villanova University, Lewis earned his bachelor's degree in economics.
