BU places conference-best 251 student-athletes on America East Winter/Spring Honor Roll

VESTAL, N.Y. -- Binghamton University had a conference best 251 student-athletes named to the 2008 America East Spring/Winter Honor Roll. In addition, BU student-athletes posted a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for the spring semester, marking the 11th time in the past 14 semesters and 16th time in the past 20 semesters that they have attained a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher.

In order to be named to the America East Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.0 for the semester their sport is in season. Those student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.5 GPA are also named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll. There were 102 BU student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

The 251 student-athletes named to the America East Winter/Spring Honor Roll was 50 more than second-place New Hampshire. The Wildcats were followed by Albany (198), Vermont (197), Stony Brook (188), Maine (168), Boston University (159), UMBC (140) and Hartford (137) to round out the nine member schools.
