VESTAL, N.Y. -- Binghamton baseball outfielder Henry Dunn is enjoying success in the New England Collegiate Baseball League this summer. Dunn was selected to the all-star team and led Team NECBL in their exhibition game against Team USA, the USA Collegiate National Team, on July 5 in Manchester, N.H. The national team posted a 4-1 victory.
Dunn leads the Vermont Mountaineers in hitting (.338), doubles (7) and stolen bases (11) after 20 games. He is batting leadoff and playing center field, where he has one outfield assist and no errors. Dunn ranks ninth in the league in batting average and is second in stolen bases. He was the league's Player of the Week on June 14 after hitting .412 with eight runs and eight RBI during the week.
Vermont (15-9) sits in second place in the Western Division of the 12-team league.
Dunn hit .347 for the Bearcats in his sophomore season this past spring, helping BU (30-22) capture the program's first America East title and advance to the NCAA tournament.
